Become a Fairtrade banana revolutionary!

12 March 2010 | Posted by simon in All Good News, General

We need your help in our crusade to make Fairtrade bananas available to everyone in New Zealand!

Get your local store to stock Fairtrade bananas and your family and friends to pledge to buy a bunch a week. You’ll be making the world of difference to the lives of banana growers and their children in El Guabo in Ecuador, guaranteeing they get a fair deal for their bananas, a fair say in their community, an education and a decent standard of living.

We’re looking for passionate volunteers who believe in Fairtrade and want to be banana revolutionaries around the North Island.

Your mission:

  • To champion the cause of Fairtrade bananas in your community;
  • To become best friends with the produce manager in your local store –Pak’nSave, New World or Four Square;
  • To get Kiwis to switch to Fairtrade bananas for their own good as well as the growers;
  • To make sure Fairtrade bananas are deliciously presented in their natural habitat (at your local supermarket); and
  • To love and care for Fairtrade bananas in your community like your life depends on it. Because, even though your life may not depend on it, someone else’s does.

This vitally important role will help us to ensure Fairtrade bananas are available to every Kiwi who believes in a better world.

In return:

You’ll receive a special All Good Bananas revolutionary kit – t-shirt, free bananas, fascinating reading material about just how good Fairtrade bananas are and other goodies to help you on your revolutionary path.

If you’re up for the challenge… email us at info@allgoodorganics.co.nz with banana revolutionary in the subject heading and your name, location and contact details.

    Howdy… already speaking with people and produce managers about why they should buy (and stock) your fine product.

    Loving it.

    Hi Pip! The produce manager at Whakatane Pak’NSave is really lovely and was one of the first stores to order a box of bananas. We hope to keep supplying them with bananas – I think they were keen to see how well they sold to make a decision on whether to continue to order. From 8 April we’ll have a continuous supply of bananas each week so stores shouldn’t have any gaps! If Pak’NSave keep selling out then they will have to keep reordering!! We’d also love to be in Whakatane and Opotiki New World (and they can order the bananas) and do let us know if you can recommend any other independent grocers that might be keen to stock them!

    Thank you!! You’re a star!!!! They really do listen. We have been speaking to produce managers at Foodstuffs stores around the country and they have been telling us about everyone going in and asking for All Good Bananas – and so they’re ordering them. Keep up the great work!!

    It is great to be able to buy All Good Bananas from the Opotiki and Whakatane New Worlds now. Fantastic to see the plastic wrap go – the bananas keep better without it, no sweating etc – as for the flavour of the bananas it is great – at first I thought it was my imagination, but after reading the comments on the website I am now quite convinved, they are the best bananas ever in more ways than one. Keep them coming, and I’ll keep telling anyone I can how good they are. :-)
